Sawantwadi is a significant and historically important town, which used to be principality till 1947. The town was the seat of the Royal family of Sawant Bhonsales and still retains some of the erstwhile stately grandeur. It is at the foot of the beautiful hill called Narendra Dongar. Sawantwadi has been declared a heritage town and was an important stop-over of Deccan Odessey.

• Moti Talav (Pearl Lake): Tourists can take a round of the lake in a peddle-boat or can simply feast on the emerald beauty while walking in the lakeside gardens.
• Amboli: Hill station is at a distance of 30 km from Sawantwadi.
• Amboli Mainfall: The most famous waterfall of amboli is 25 km from Sawantwadi and is a must see place. Waterfall crossing is conducted by experts.
• Shiroda: a beach destination is 20 kms from Sawantwadi.
