Ratnagiri - Palande-Anjarle (View All Properties)

Palande-Anjarle is famous for its clean beaches and beautiful temples. Located at a distance of 12 kms from Dapoli, the view from the road between palande to anjarle is breath-takingly beautiful. One can see the distant Arabian sea and fishing boats against the backdrop of huge trees and coconut plantations. The beaches are among the cleanest and untouched of places. The ganesh temple at anjarle is considered to be very holy and devotees throng the temple. Outside the ganesh temple, it is believed that the footprint on the stone belongs to that of lord ganesha.

Duration of stay: Minimum of two day stay recommended.

Things to do:

  • Murud – Karde Beach - It is located on the rugged Konkan coastline and is 8 km from Palande. The Murud beach is considered to be among one of the safest beach due to its very smooth shoreline which doesn’t go into a steep slope like others. One can also take part in various activities like parasailing, biking, camel-riding, bullock-cart, etc.
  • Panhale Kazi – It is a famous rock-cut monument and filled with ancient caves. It is located at a distance of approx. 35 km from Murud-Harnai.
  •  Dapoli-Ladghar - It is located on the way to Anjarle-Palande. It is famous for being home to Krishi Vidyapeeth (Agriculture University) which is the second largest agriculture university in Asia.  
  • Harnai fort - It is located at a distance of about 3 Kms from Palande. The fort was built by shivaji and stands surrounded by sea on all sides. Looking at the fort, one is forced to marvel at the architectural finesse of that period. During evenings, one can also see th auction of fishes being brought by trawlers in the beach.
  • Durga Temple, Murud – One can also visit the famous 18th Century Durga Temple at Murud with excellent wooden engravings on pillars. A large bell hangs above the left side of the entrance. It is said that after winning the battle of Vasai, Chimaji Appa - the great Maratha warrior had brought that bell from one of the churches.

 How to reach:

  • Air: Chhatrapati Shivaji International airport, Mumbai – 259 kms.
  • Rail: Nearest railway station is Khed nearly 49 kms. from Palande
  • Road: ST Buses are available from Dapoli to other major towns and cities.
