Sindhudurg - Amboli (View All Properties)

Amboli is a small hill station located on a plateau of Sahayadri range at a height of 690 m above sea level and was developed by a British political agent Colonel Westrop. The hill staion is known for waterfalls and thick mist during the rainy season. There are many view points which offers the best bird's-eye views  of the thick forests and outrageous valleys of the Konkan coast,

Roughly 50,000 tourists visit this place every year. The hill station is a romantic honeymoon destination too.

Duration of stay: A two day stay is recommended.

Things to do at Amboli.

  • Mahadeogadh - 3 km from amboli.  
  • Sun set point - 2 km from amboli.
  • Kawalesad point - 8 km from amboli, must visit to see the force of the wind stooping a waterfall to come down.
  • Mainfall - the most famous waterfall of amboli and is a must see place. Waterfall crossing is conducted by experts.
  • Nangartas fall - 10 km from amboli towards belgaum.
  • Hiranyakeshi - originating point of Hiranyakashi river, famous shri shankar temple and a cave.
  • Shirgaonkar point - 1 km from amboli, peculiar species of wild plants are available.
  • Jungle Safar - a heavily forested pathway made by forest dept. for visitors to see flora and fauna from the close.
  • Purvicha Vas temple - on the way to amboli from sawant wadi, near amboli.
