Devgadh is in the northern part of Sindhudurg district, and is famous for forts. Devgadh fort is at the confluence of Arabian Sea and Devgadh creek. Kanoji Angre, chief of Martha army, was instrumental in constructing this fort in 1705. Devgadh was also a natural harbour and well guarded port town.
