Kankavali is one of the biggest town of Sindhudurg and being in centre act as a transit station. This is also a commercial hub and offers a number of hotels, shopping and other facilities. There are number of places of tourist interest in close vicinity of the town.

• Bhalachandra Ashram: At this place, Bhalachandra Baba resided for 30 years and spent his life helping people using his spiritual powers. A shrine was built after Baba’s death.
• Savdav Fall: This place is major tourist attraction during the monsoons with lot of people from near by places come to see the force of the water. The access road is as exciting as the place.
